Holidays modify trash, recycling pickup

The Superior Public Works Department is closed on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday, and Jan. 1 in observance of the New Year.

The closure includes the Superior Municipal Landfill on Moccasin Mike Road.

For the week of Christmas, trash pickup for Monday and Tuesday must be out by 7 a.m. Dec. 26 for Wednesday for pickup. All other cans must be out by 7 a.m. on the normally scheduled day.

For the week of New Year’s, trash pickup for people with Monday garbage service will not change. Residents with Tuesday pickup must have cans out 7 a.m. Monday. All other cans should be out by 7 a.m. on the regularly scheduled day.

There may be delays in pickup both weeks.

Hartels/DBJ will pick up scheduled Monday recycling routes Dec. 24 and Dec. 31; however, recycling routes that run Tuesday are collected one day later than normal. The Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 routes will be picked up Dec. 26 and Jan. 2, respectively.
