Kiara De Kezel and Dani Schultz scored power-play goals Tuesday night as No. 7-ranked University of Wisconsin-Superior women’s hockey team beat St. Catherine University 4-1 in a nonconference women’s game at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis.
UWS (7-3) also had goals from Haley Olmstead and Bailey Lane. The Yellowjackets led 1-0 after one period and 2-0 after two, and led 40-21 in shots on goal. UWS has won four straight games.
Freshman Megan Leikkari, in a second collegiate start, had 20 saves for UWS.
Alex Hall had 37 saves for St. Catherine (5-3) who is a of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
The Yellowjackets play at Lake Forest at 4 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.
