Wreath lights track holiday fires

The Town of Superior Fire Department is once again trying to spread the message about holiday fire safety by using the “Keep the Wreath Green Campaign.” The campaign, which runs through Jan. 2, is designed to make people aware of the fires associated with holiday season. The wreath outside the town of Superior fire hall is lit with green holiday lights. If a fire occurs during the holiday season in Douglas County, one of the green bulbs will change to Rred. This will include preventable fires such as those caused by cooking, smoking, space heaters, candles and more. The wreath serves as a reminder of the safety precautions that should be taken during this holiday season and throughout the year. The goal is to keep the wreath green.
