UWS choirs celebrate the season

Begin your holiday season with classics from past and present when the University of Wisconsin-Superior choirs present their traditional “Celebration of the Season” concerts at 4 p.m. Sunday and again at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Cathedral of Christ the King in Superior.
The concerts feature traditional and contemporary Christmas music performed by the Acappella Choir, Chamber Choir and Men’s Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Matthew Faerber. Featured performers include organist Rachel Kresha.
Set amid the cathedral’s magnificent acoustics, this year’s performances feature traditional and contemporary carols, including works by Morton Lauridsen, Felix Mendelssohn, Maurice Duruflé, Bob Chilcott and Mack Wilberg. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students. Donations to the University of Wisconsin International Travel Fund are invited. For more information, call 715-394-8115.
