Duluth: BOLD-choice Theater’s “TIMBER! The Story of Paul Bunyan” begins at 7 p.m. in the Marshall School Fregeau Auditorium, 1215 Rice Lake Road. BOLD (Battling Obstacles Living with Disabilities) provides a unique style of theater performance that introduces community and student audiences to the talents of individuals with disabilities. The play tells the story of Paul Bunyan and how he navigates in a world where he literally and figuratively does not fit in. Tickets are $7 at the door or call 218-724-5869 for reservations.

Saturday

Duluth: The Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis runs 8-11 a.m. at Grandma’s Sports Garden, 425 S. Lake Ave. Be one of thousands of runners and walkers who hit the nation’s pavements, pathways and parks this winter to fight arthritis, the nation’s most common cause of disability. Participants are encouraged to wear a holiday-themed costume or tie jingle bells to their shoelaces as they run or walk the five kilometer route. Registration is $30.

Cloquet: The fifth annual Churchill Elementary Holiday Expo runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in conjunction with Cloquet’s Home for the Holidays event at Churchill Elementary School, 515 Granite St. Free. A pancake breakfast put on the Boy Scout Troop 171 runs 8:30-10:30 a.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for kids younger than 12. Enter through the Arthur Street doors.

Superior: The annual holiday bazaar sponsored by TOPS WI987 South Range, will be held at the Superior Town Hall, 4917 S. Hwy. 35 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Over 20 crafters will offer a wide variety of wares for sale. There will also be a bake sale and lunch and sweets will be available. Handicap accessible.

Superior: Annual Artists Market opening today through Dec. 31. Monday thru Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Artist receptions, music, food, fun.

Bayfield: Holiday Spirit Gallery Tour runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. See Bayfield’s most prolific artists’ work on display for the holidays. Beautiful paintings, pottery, metal sculptures, wood carvings, fiber arts and more. Some open houses include refreshments and demonstrations. Maps will be available at the Bayfield Chamber & Visitor Bureau on the corner of Manypenny Avenue and Broad Street.

Superior: Everyone is invited to the third annual Christkindlmarkt 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 3 p.m. Sunday in the Community Gardens at the intersection of Hammond Avenue and Broadway Street. Enjoy the festive atmosphere around the bonfire with cookies and apple cider, and search for a gift from the Northland or Germany for your special someone from one of the numerous vendors.

Duluth: Find and cut a Christmas tree from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Boulder Lake Environmental Learning Center, 7328 Boulder Dam Road. Enjoy a warm fire, free hot chocolate and cookies. Visitors are asked to bring their own saw, tie downs and mug. Cost is $12 per tree, $12 for a pre-made wreath or $20 for both. Candles and chili will also be for sale. Duluth: The Duluth Fiber Handcrafters Guild Fair and Sale runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Depot, 506 W. Michigan St. There will be demonstrations of weaving, spinning and other fiber arts, plenty of hands-on activities and one-of-a-kind gifts for children and adults. Free.

Danbury: Christmas at the Fort is a family even at Fort Folle Avoine Historical Park, 8500 County Road U. It runs 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Duluth: An Average Guy Benefit, Not Your Average Fundraiser takes place from 3-9 p.m. at Mr. D’s Bar and Grill, 5622 Grand Ave. to help Jon Donahue and his family to defray the cost of fighting Gliosarcoma, a rare cancer of the brain. Donahue is a West Duluth native and co-host on the Average Guys sports talk show on PACT-TV. The event features a spaghetti dinner beginning at 3 p.m., a live auction, prize drawings, master of ceremonies Herb Bergson and special guest Duluth Mayor Don Ness. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids.

Duluth: A Sounds of the Season Concert begins at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in Weber Music Hall at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, $5 for students, $3 for UMD students.

Solon Springs: A tree lighting ceremony takes place at 6 p.m. Several decorated trees in the village’s downtown park will be lighted. After the lighting, Santa Claus will visit the Village Hall with goodies for the kids. The event will include a group of carolers, hot cider, hot chocolate and cookies.

Duluth: The 17th annual CHUM Holiday Concert will be held at 7 p.m. at the Mitchell Auditorium on the College of St. Scholastica campus. Performers include Bill Bastian, Lon Weaver, Clergy Quartet, Choir of Choirs and Windchill Brass. Free and open to the public. A free will collection to support CHUM will be taken during the concert.

Sunday

Superior: Boy Scout Troop 202 holds its annual pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church, 229 N. 28th St. Tickets are $7, ages 5 and attend for free.

Maple: A benefit for retired teacher Nancy (Scott) Homan, who is struggling with ALS, will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at Northwestern High School. The Packers/Vikings game day event includes a spaghetti dinner, raffles, auctions, desserts and more. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 12-18 and $2 for children under 12. Homan taught for 36 years, impacting the lives of hundreds of children as a fifth and sixth grade teacher at Poplar Elementary and Northwestern Middle schools. She was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in 2011.

Monday

Iron River: The Tri-County Recreational Corridor Commission will hold their regular meeting at 6 p.m. at the Iron River Community Center, 8275 E. Mill St.

Duluth: The Duluth Entrepreneur Fund’s CREATE program will showcase some of the art and artists they’ve supported in a December exhibit in the Zeitgeist Arts Lobby. The exhibit opens with a party from 6-9 p.m. in the Zeitgeist Arts Atrium, 222 E. Superior St., with live music and hors d’oeuvres.

Tuesday

Superior: A Cancer Prayer Support Group will meet from 2-3 p.m. at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church, 4020 S. Darrow Road. Current cancer patients, those in remission and their caregivers are encouraged to attend. This faith-filled meeting is open to all members of the surrounding community, regardless of church affiliation. Any questions, call 715 399-8885.

Ashland: The Northland College Winds perform their holiday concert, “Christmas in the Wind” beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Alvord Theatre at Northland College, 1411 Ellis Ave. The symphonic band will perform several holiday selections including the Chip Davis (Mannheim Steamroller) arrangement of Stille Nacht and a Canadian carol originally written by a Jesuit Missionary that first appeared in the Huron Indian language. Wednesday

South Range: TOPS WI987 gathers 8:15-8:45 a.m. for weigh in and meets 9-10 a.m. at the Parkland Town Hall, County Highway K. New members welcome.

Hayward: The Northwest Regional Planning Commission will hold its semi-annual meeting at 9:30 a.m. at Flat Creek Inn & Suites, 10290 Wisconsin Highway 27.

Superior: A Merry Little Christmas Book Sale runs 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Superior Public Library. Free gift wrapping available.

Thursday

Superior: Thaddeus Kosciuszko Society (Polish Club) meets at 6:30 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 1710 N. 12th St.

Superior: The Eagles Auxiliary serves Coney’s 5-7 p.m. and holds a meat raffle at 6:15 p.m. Money raised goes to local charities.
