Tree lighting ceremonies

The Superior-Douglas County Holiday Tree Lighting takes place at 5:30 p.m. today at Center City Park, 1501 Tower Ave.

Superior

The Superior-Douglas County Holiday Tree Lighting takes place Thursday at Center City Park, 1501 Tower Ave. It begins at 5:30 p.m. with the tree lighting at 6 p.m. The free celebration includes a visit from Santa, a holiday carol sing-along and refreshments.

Poplar

The Poplar holiday tree lighting takes place at the village park along Main Street next to Highway 2. It kicks off with caroling at 5:45 p.m. Singers will meet at the National Bank of Commerce, 4994 Memorial Drive, at 5:30 p.m. and stroll down to the park as they sing. Santa is expected to arrive at the park at 6:20 p.m. and light the tree at 6:30 p.m.

Solon Springs

A tree lighting ceremony takes place in Solon Springs at 6 p.m. Saturday. Several decorated trees in the downtown village park will be lighted. After the lighting, Santa Claus will visit the Village Hall with goodies for the kids. The event will include a group of carolers, hot cider, hot chocolate and cookies.

All tree lighting events are free and open to the public.
