Free films focus on environment

A pair of films will be presented to the public this Thursday and next at the Superior Public Library.

A pair of films will be presented to the public this Thursday and next at the Superior Public Library.

“Silent Spring of Rachel Carson,” a one-hour documentary on Carson, one of the most influential women of the 20th century, begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Carson was a biologist, writer and ecologist whose book “Silent Spring” is credited with helping launch the environmental movement after its publication in 1962.

On Dec. 13, a screening of “Greenest Building” begins at 6:30 p.m. The one hour video focuses on re-use of building space as a direction toward sustainability.

Both showings are free and open to the public.
