Dalbec scores twice in UWS win
The University of Wisconsin-Superior men’s hockey team improved to 7-2 on the season with a 4-3 victory over the Concordia College Cobbers Wednesday evening at Wessman Arena.

Former Superior Spartan Pat Dalbec scored twice for the Yellowjackets, short-handed and on the power play. UWS also got third-period goals from Brad Phenow and Josh Kesler.
Dalbec’s short-handed goal came 4:30 into the game with help from Kyle Leahy.
Danil Kalashnikov tied it up for the Cobbers (3-5-1) at 10:16 of the first period.
Dalbec’s power-play goal gave UWS a 2-1 lead 2:34 into the second period.
Chris Beede tied it up for the Cobbers three minutes later.
UWS took a 3-2 lead when Brad Phenow scored not only his first goal of the season, but his first goal in 49 games. It went to 4-2 just 32 seconds later when Josh Kesler put home a rebound for his first goal of the season.
Superior’s fourth goal led to a Cobber timeout and a change of goaltenders from Kelly Andrew to Chris Neamonitis.
CC made it a 4-3 game with Jordie Bancroft’s power-play goal with 4:16 remaining.
Drew Strandberg picked up the win in goal for UWS with 18 saves. Andrew and Neamonitis combined on 30 saves for the Cobbers.
’JACKET JOTTINGS: Dalbec has at least one point in all nine games for UWS. The junior now has six goals and seven assists. … The Yellowjackets are back in action Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at UW-River Falls.
