LETTER: Left creates loyal base, bad policy

I congratulate the left on creating a loyal base of voters by putting more and more people on the government bosom. It’s about time we unlatch some folks because our nation is nearly out of milk. Not only will these safety nets bankrupt us, but they also keep people “comfortable” and unwilling to work hard to better themselves. It’s said that necessity is the mother of invention and if our kids are born with all their needs met, how will they ever learn the value of hard work and perseverance?

Nationally we will not be able to do enough the next 4 years to counter the bad-for-business policies Obama will try and implement because Democrats control the Senate. However, we have a grand opportunity, as a state led by Republicans, to promote policies that are pro-business and limit state entitlements.

Politicians do not create jobs but rather destroy jobs with policies and regulations that limit the creativity of business owners. Whenever government picks the winners and losers rather than allowing the market to do so, we end up with fraud and waste.

Now is the time for Wisconsin to step up and show the nation what fiscal conservatism can do to provide opportunities for all rather than a select few. And for all those that would rather get all the benefits without any of the work, please move to Minnesota and Illinois because you’re either part of the solution or your part of the problem.

Matt Kresel,

Hudson, Wis.
