Bong Center features ‘From Here to Eternity’

The Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center announces the 11th in its 2012 film series, Hollywood Heroes, which features a movie whose star was born in that month.

“From Here to Eternity,” starring Burt Lancaster, is shown at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Pearl Harbor Theater. Released in 1953, the drama deals with the troubles of soldiers stationed on Hawaii in the months leading up to the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The film won eight Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Admission to the film is free with free popcorn courtesy of Campbell Lumber.
