Court dismisses charges after suspect dies

Drunk driving charges were dismissed against a Superior woman in Douglas County Circuit Court.

Drunk driving charges were dismissed against a Superior woman in Douglas County Circuit Court.

Cindy Lou Engstrom was facing felony counts of fifth or sixth offense operating while intoxicated, fifth or sixth offense operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration, operating while revoked, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from a Feb. 17 traffic stop.

All counts were dismissed Oct. 4 on a prosecutor’s motion. Assistant District Attorney asked the court to drop the charges because Engstrom died on Sept. 27.
