Eleven Spartans named to BRC football team

Eleven members of the Superior High School football team were named to the 2012 Big Rivers Football All-Conference Team.

Ben Erickson, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound senior, was a first-team selection on defense as a linebacker. Seniors Willie Wells and Anthony Valentine were second-team picks on defense as a lineman and linebacker, respectively.

Honorable mention selections for the Spartans were Erick Anderson, OL; Clayton Cruscielski, LB; Sam Freeman, DL; Jack Kline, WR; Andrew Roske, DL; Matt Sanda, OL; Kyle Turkowski, WR; and Spencer Urban, QB/DB.

Hudson dominated the team with Mike Hommes as the Offensive Player of the year; Alex Burgess as the defensive player of the year and Adam Kowles as the coach of the year.
