The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) will host four Veterans Day ceremonies throughout the state. The WDVA invites the public to attend. The theme for this year is “The Year of the Veteran.”
“On Veterans Day, we honor the legacy of those men and women veterans, those who are serving, and their families for the sacrifices they make for our freedom,” said WDVA Secretary John Scocos. “I encourage all citizens to honor all veterans not just on this day but throughout the year, and join us as we pay tribute to them.”
WDVA will host four ceremonies. Veterans, their families and the public are invited to attend.
Today at 11:30 a.m. in the Wisconsin State Capitol rotunda in Madison.
Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The cemetery is located just off Highway 53, three miles south of Spooner, at N4063 Veterans Way.
Sunday at 11a.m. at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove. The home is located at 21425 G Spring Street, Union Grove.
Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King. The home is located 3 miles west of Waupaca at N2665 County Road QQ, King. The event will be held in the Marden Memorial Center.
