Superior: Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital Superior Auxiliary 3500 Tower Ave., holds its annual Holiday Happenings 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Community Room on the first floor of the hospital. This sale features holiday items and a homemade bake sale.

Superior: The Girls Just Wanna Have Fun shop hop runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Antiques on Belknap, Art in the Alley, Kate by Courtney & Leigh, Peachie’s Stained Glass, Wine Beginnings and Lake Superior Garden Center offer in-store specials, goodies, refreshments, door prizes and, for those who visit all three stores, a chance to register for a $300 grand prize.

Duluth: The Lake Superior Ragtime Society presents an “Evening in Ragtime” concert 6-9 p.m. in the Tower Music Hall Room 3625 at the College of St. Scholastica. Free. Donations appreciated.

Duluth: The first “Rockin’ for Amberwing” benefit with MYNX and Friends begins at 7 p.m. at Grandma’s Sports Garden in Canal Park. Tickets are $20.

Ashland: Northern Waters Library Service Board of Trustees meets at noon at the NWLS Headquarters.

Two Harbors: A beacon lighting to commemorate the Nov. 10, 1975, sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald runs noon to 6 p.m. at Split Rock Lighthouse, 3713 Split Rock Lighthouse Road. A film about the Fitzgerald runs continuously in the visitor center theater. The names of the 29 lost crew members will be read at 4:30 p.m. Cost is $6 per person; free for Minnesota Historical Society members.

Duluth: Cullen Horne, Hamlin Music Academy and Grand Central Music store, presents the Northland Drum Fest 2-4 p.m. in the banquet room of Mr. D’s Bar and Grill, 5622 Grand Ave. The free area wide drumming event targets drum education and equipment in the Twin Ports area. Superior: Sample a global feast, then sit back and enjoy acts including Japanese “tap” and “Gangnam Style” dancing during Cultural Night 2012, sponsored by the World Student Association at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Duluth: The College of St. Scholastica Concert and Jazz Bands host a Centennial Alumni Comeback Concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Mitchell Auditorium on campus. Duluth: A pie social and ribbon cutting ceremony marks the grand opening of Valentini’s Deli at St. Luke’s Hospital. Slices of pie and coffee are available 2-3 p.m. for a $1 donation. The deli is on the second floor skywalk next to St. Luke’s Gift Shop, 915 E. First St.

Superior: Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College is offering a free Career Seminar 4-6 p.m. at WITC-Superior. The seminar consists of self-evaluation, personality assessments, career clusters interest inventory, labor market trends, employability skills, goal setting and career decision-making.
