Superior Community Theater performs “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940” today-Saturday and Nov. 15-18 at Faith United Methodist Church, 1531 Hughitt Ave.
The comic mayhem features a cast of local thespians and supports the church’s food pantry, which provides food to those in need. This week, food pantry volunteers served a record number of families — 62.
The play begins when the creative team responsible for a recent Broadway flop meets up at the estate of a wealthy backer. The house includes sliding panels, secret passageways and a maid who is apparently four different people. All of that figures into the comic mayhem that follows when the infamous “Slasher” makes his reappearance and strikes again — and again.
The show starts at 7 p.m. every day except Nov. 18 when the performance is a 2 p.m. matinee.
Dinner is offered an hour before the show on Nov. 9-10 and 16-18. Cost for the show only is $8. Dinner and a show costs $15, with meal proceeds going to the food pantry. To reserve a ticket, call 218-393-0148 or email klpstudios@gmail.com.
