UWS student Austin Maye, who is majoring in exercise science with a political science minor, won’t get any extra credit for attending the speech.
“I actually got extra homework for coming here,” said Maye, 23, of Apple Valley, Minn. He said seeing a candidate in person makes them more approachable.
“You just notice that they are everyday people with struggles just like everybody else,” Maye said.
His biggest concern this election is college affordability.
“I want to hear more about that, what they plan to do to help make college more affordable for people because we’re lacking in education department,” Maye said.
