The Christmas shopping season is here, and the Merry Little Christmas Book Sale, sponsored by the Friends of the Superior Public Library is offering budget-minded shoppers opportunities to select quality, gently used books for everyone on their lists. This year’s sale will kick-off 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 14 from at the Superior Public Library in the area just past the computers.
“We are extending the hours of our Merry Little Christmas Book Sale to encourage shoppers to stop in during their lunch hours or after work,” said Maggie Bare, President of the Friends of the Superior Public Library.
The sale also runs Wednesdays from Nov. 21-Dec. 19 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29 during the lighting ceremony for Superior’s community holiday tree, held adjacent to the library.
“Our Merry Little Christmas Book Sale will feature a wide array of specially selected books for adults, children, and young adults. Current fiction, non-fiction, cook books, and craft books will be featured,” said Bare. Suggested donations are $2 for hard cover books, $1 for trade paperbacks, and $1 for a bundle of regular paperbacks. As an added bonus, free gift-wrapping is available.
“Busy shoppers really appreciated having their purchases wrapped last year, and we are happy to continue this service,” noted Bare.
Donations of gently used books and magazines for the Book Corner and books for the Merry Little Book Sales may be dropped off at the Library circulation desk.
“We welcome donations all year long,” said Bare, “and we encourage community members to support our library by joining the Friends of the Library.” For information about the Friends of the Superior Public Library, go to http://Superiorlibrary.org and click on Support.
