Lend a hand in KIND

The Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, a sorority of educators, is again sponsoring their KIND — Kids in Need of Duds campaign.

The Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, a sorority of educators, is again sponsoring their KIND — Kids in Need of Duds campaign.

Members of the group recognize that many school-age children in our area do not have adequate clothing for this time of year and the cold months ahead.

Because of this, they have organized a yearly collection of donations from its members, area businesses and residents of their communities. The committee then purchases hats, mittens, scarves and headbands to donate to schools in Superior, Port Wing, Poplar, Maple, Iron River, Minong and Solon Springs.

Last year several area businesses also donated winter apparel for the project. Those wishing to contribute may send checks made out to ADK, Upsilon Chapter to: Project KIND, c/o Julie Peck, 9555 S. Buskey Bay Drive, Iron River, WI 54847.
