Don’t miss the magic at our “Famous Witches and Wizards” Trick-or-Treat Party 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. Friday. Stop by the library to receive candy from Harry Potter, Merlin, Maleficent and other not-so-scary witches and wizards.

This all-ages family event is free and open to all. Costumes are optional, but we do ask you to bring a nonperishable food item to for the local food shelf. We hope to see you there.

Please join us Nov. 7 from noon to 1 p.m. in the chandelier area for a very special program to honor our nation’s veterans. The Lake Superior Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Friends of the Library are teaming up to introduce “Our Heroes’ Tree,” including a patriotic piano performance by Ruby Thomas. The DAR will introduce “Our Heroes’ Tree,” which will be decorated with white lights symbolizing those service members who have lost their lives during conflict. Handmade ornaments honor service members from past and present wars, conflicts and peacetime operations. Help us reflect, remember and rejoice in our community’s heroes. “Our Heroes’ Tree” is displayed through the holiday season.
