Two arrested in connection with carjacking in Superior

In the early morning hours of Oct. 11 officers from the Superior Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery and vehicle theft in the area of Wal-Mart, 3700 block of Tower Avenue.
The victim in this incident reported that he initially met the suspect’s at local bar and provided them a ride home as their vehicle was broken down and later provided them transportation back to the disabled vehicle. A short time later, while at a stoplight near Wal-Mart, the suspects approach the victim’s vehicle and allegedly pointed a firearm at him and demanded he exit the vehicle.
The victim was eventually able to flee from the vehicle, unharmed, and the suspects left in the vehicle the victim had been driving.
The investigation identified two suspects as being Cheyenne Allen Smith, of Cloquet, Minn. and Jesse Jay Bohannon of McGregor, Minn., both age 19.
Smith was located by the Superior Police Department on October 17 while officers were investigating a car prowling incident.
Bohannon was located the following day at a local nightclub during a dry night.
Both suspects were arrested and charged with armed carjacking as a party to a crime, a Class C felony with a maximum sentence of $100,000 fine and 40 years in prison.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing and no further details will be released at this time.
