Registration still open for Rookie Basketball League
The Superior/Douglas County Salvation army has announced that the registration period for this year’s Rookie Basketball Association is still open.
The RBA is a youth basketball program for boys and girls in the third and fourth grades, although younger children are allowed to participate under certain circumstances. Teams are balanced to the best extent possible, with older and younger children, boys and girls, returnees and newcomers.
Practices begin in November and the regular playing season will commence on Dec. 1. The season consists of 10 games, followed by three weeks of playoffs. All practices and games will be held at the Salvation Army gymnasium located at 916 Hughitt Avenue.
The registration fee is $30 per child. Players get to keep their jersey and will receive a medal and a certificate of participation at a season ending awards night.
Registrations will be accepted at the Salvation Army from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25.
