Senior Connections screens for benefit eligibility

Senior Connections holds a screening event for people older than 60 to determine eligibility for a variety of public benefit programs.

Senior Connections holds a screening event for people older than 60 to determine eligibility for a variety of public benefit programs.

The screening runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Superior-Douglas County Senior Center, 1527 Tower Ave.

Superior High School students, members of the Key Club and Youth Leadership Superior-Douglas County programs will assist with screenings to determine if people are eligible for Medicare Savings Programs, extra help with prescription drug costs, Food Share and Energy Assistance.

Benefit programs are designed to assist people with limited income and resources, and eligibility criteria varies depending on the program.
