ABBOTSFORD, B.C. — Former Superior Spartan Brett Olson has signed an American Hockey League contract with the Abbotsford Heat.
Olson completed a four-year collegiate career with the Michigan Tech Huskies in March where he recorded 42 goals, 51 assists, 93 points and 156 penalty minutes in 127 games. The 25-year-old led the Huskies in scoring in his sophomore and senior years, and served as team captain for his final two seasons.
Prior to his collegiate career with Michigan Tech, Olson spent three seasons with the USHL’s Waterloo Black Hawks.
The Heat open their season against the Peoria Rivermen (affiliate of the St. Louis Blues) Friday and Saturday at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Center.
