Superior: Barker’s Island Farmers Market runs 8 a.m. to noon near the SS Meteor, rain or shine.

Superior: The annual craft sale sponsored by the Douglas County Association for Home and Community Education runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Head of the Lakes fairgrounds, 4700 Tower Ave. More than 50 area crafters offer a large variety of items for sale, along with a bake sale, lunch, refreshments and door prizes. Admission is $1 and includes a door prize ticket. The group is also collecting donations for CASDA; receive an extra door prize ticket for a personal care item to donate. Superior: Superior High School students Ben Erickson, Brandon Gustafson, Peter Kraus and Kelsey Reder host “Tailgate to Recovery” 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. outside the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Mortorelli Drive. The fundraiser for flood relief features the Badger game televised on a large outdoor screen at 11 a.m., food vendors, inflatables for kids, prizes such as a grandfather clock and a football signed by the Packers, plus three bands. Duluth: Duluth Audubon Society hosts “Autumn Birding Strolls with Erik Bruhnke” at 7:15 a.m. Meet at the Park Point Recreation Center parking lot near the soccer fields. Free.

Superior: A pancake and omelet breakfast runs 9 a.m. to noon at the Superior-Douglas County Senior Center, 1527 Tower Ave. Cost is $5 for pancakes and sausage or $6 for an omelet and toast.

Superior: The Alumni of the Delta Sigma Sorority meets for lunch at 12:30 p.m. at Barker’s Island Inn.

Superior: The Clef Music Society meets at 5:30 p.m. at the Pizza Man restaurant for dinner and a business meeting conducted by President Nancy Smith. Following dinner, the society moves to the Superior Public Library to resume the meeting at 7 p.m. where a program is presented to the public by the musical vocal group “The Downbeats,” an easy listening vocal group with 16 members from Duluth and Superior. Hostesses for the program are Linda Eliason, Nancy Smith and Friends of the Superior Public Library. The public is invited and refreshments are served.

Duluth: Veterans’ Memorial Hall hosts “History in a Pint” at 6 p.m. at Carmody Irish Pub & Brewing. Park in the First Street ramp behind the Sheraton. Free. History in a Pint focuses on the Vietnam War and the story of the Navy, as told by Dwight “Deac” Nelson.

Wednesday

South Range: TOPS WI987 meets on Wednesdays at the Parkland Town Hall, Highway K, with weigh-in 8:15-8:45 a.m. and the meeting 9-10 a.m. New members welcome.

Duluth: The 10th annual Duluth Senior Expo runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center. The event features exhibitors, screenings, live entertainment, seminars and more. Included in this year’s entertainment are Sh-Boom and the Chmielewski Funtime Band. Admission is $6 at the door but attendees can pick up complimentary tickets from exhibitors and sponsors.

Duluth: Animal Allies Humane Society and Northland Spay/Neuter Program hold an open house 3:30-6 p.m. at Northland Spay/Neuter, 2002 W. Superior St. The public is invited to enjoy complimentary refreshments and tours of the clinic.

Duluth: Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries holds a fundraiser for Circle of Hope 4-8 p.m. Ten percent of proceeds benefit the organization that offers grants to help with the cost of cancer treatments.

Thursday

Duluth: The Mental Health Support Group meets 5-7 p.m. at Miller Dwan Medical Center, 502 East Second St., meeting Rooms 1-3, lobby level, Eastside near the auditorium.

Superior: The Eagles Auxiliary holds a meat raffle at 6:15 p.m., and serves Coney’s 5-7 p.m. Money raised goes to local charities.

Superior: A presentation based on the book “The Dyslexic Advantage” begins at 6:30 p.m. at Enduring Achievement, in the rear of the Northwoods Music building, 1608 Tower Ave. The scientific findings and characteristics of dyslexic brain organization is discussed.
