Kintop, Walpole pace Spartan runners at Swain Invitational
The Superior High School cross country teams ran in Saturday’s Swain Invitational at Enger Park Golf Course in Duluth.
The Spartan girls finished in 11th place as a team and the boys were 12th.
Totino-Grace won the boys team title and Minneapolis Southwest won the girls title.
The SHS girls were led by Natalie Kintop, who finished in 28th place with a time of 16:26. Molly Eastman of Holy Family Catholic won the girls race in 15:21.
Other Spartan girl runners were: Leah Holmes, 16:34.1; Malley O’Brien, 16:46.1; Isabella Evanvold, 17:18.2; Lorena Lane, 17:42.9; and Kali Krivinchuk, 18:13.9.
Evan Walpole was the fastest boy with a time of 16:45. Brendan Sage, St. Michael-Albertville, won the boys race in 15:53.6.
Other times for the SHS boys were: Chris Carey, 16:51.4; Robert McClarey, 17:38.1; Carter Anderson, 18:35.8; Jake Kennedy, 18:53.4; Shane Tetzlaff, 18:54.9; and Mason Stien, 19:49.4.
Up next for the Spartans is the Lake Superior Conference meet at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Far Par Golf Course.
