The Northwestern Tigers improved to 5-1 in the conference and 6-1 overall Friday night with a 24-6 victory over Chetek-Weyerhauser (1-5, 2-5).
Cumberland (5-1, 6-1) is also in the running for the conference crown after defeating Barron 14-6 Friday night.
Northwestern closes out the regular season Oct. 12 with a road game against the Bloomer Blackhawks (4-2, 4-3), who defeated Hayward 13-7 Friday night.
Cumberland hosts Ladysmith to close out conference play.
