MADISON, Wis. (AP) — University of Wisconsin football coach Bret Bielema (BEE'-leh-mah) is so focused on his team's performance that even a presidential visit to campus didn't register.
During his media session after practice Thursday, reporters asked Bielema about President Obama's afternoon appearance on Bascom Hill. Bielema looked bewildered. He looked to the athletic communications director for help, but Brian Lucas just shrugged.
The State Journal says after Bielema was told about Obama on campus and the president's meeting with the men's basketball team, the coach admitted to living in a football shell and later laughed about it on his Thursday night radio show.
