ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — The National Organization for Women of New York State is saluting the Wisconsin television anchorwoman who gave an emotional on-air response to a viewer who criticized her weight.
Jennifer Livingston took the airways Tuesday to respond to the critical email during a segment on WKBT-TV in La Crosse, calling the writer a bully. She urged young viewers not to allow such people to define their self-worth.
The 4-minute segment has become a viral sensation.
NOW-New York President Marcia Pappas is congratulating Livingston for what she calls "powerful response." Pappas says the anchorwoman is helping people move beyond unrealistic body and beauty standards.
