Botten’s Green Acres

Albatross

Murf Denny of Brule recorded an albatross (double eagle) on the par 5, 480-yard sixth hole with an 11 wood at Botten’s Green Acres on Monday, Oct. 1.

Denny hit a driver then holed out from the fairway with an 11 wood.

The shot was witnessed by Jeff Buhr, Tom Carlson, Scott Waletzko, Steve Hopkins and Mick Killoren.

Denny has now eagled eight of the nine holes at Botten’s. The only hole that eludes him is No. 2.

Green Dreamers Ladies

The Green Dreamers Ladies League at Northern Pines in Iron River wrapped up its season with a best-ball two-person scramble. Marlene Parkhurst and Barb Brooks won the event with 40s. Bev Lindsey and Joyce Lind came in second with 42s.

Yvette Krech and Barb Brooks had chip-ins and Judy Larson and Linda Brunner recorded birdies.

Low scores were Bev Lindsey, 45; and Yvette Krech and Linda Brunner, 48s.

Low net-score winners were: Flight 1—Bev Lindsey, 37; Flight 2—Dee Ginthner, Barb Brooks, 38; Flight 3—Debbie Landgreen, 39; Flight 4—Ginny Pedersen, 39.
