Ashland, Bayfield law enforcement cracks string of burglaries

During the past several months, the Ashland and Bayfield County Sheriff’s Offices along with the City of Ashland Police Department have been investigating several storage unit and residential burglaries.

Recently one of the victims of the burglaries gave information to the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office on an item they believed had been stolen from them. With this information and further investigation from the three law enforcement agencies, several search warrants and subpoenas were executed and thousands of dollars worth of stolen items were recovered.

A joint investigation between the Ashland and Bayfield County Sheriff’s Offices and the City of Ashland Police Department subsequently cleared approximately twenty storage unit burglaries and three residential burglaries.

Two arrests have been made. The names of the arrested are being withheld because the investigation is ongoing.
