The Superior Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and at least four Minnesota law enforcement agencies including the Minneapolis Police Department, Brooklyn Center Police Department, Centennial Lakes Police Department, and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation involving a sophisticated group of Twin Cities area burglars.

Shared information from the participating law enforcement agencies led to surveillance and continued investigation that linked the group to a substantial burglary of a local Superior residence on Sept. 21.

As a result of this surveillance and investigation four Twin Cities area residents were arrested for burglary. The following three suspects were arrested, at the request of the Superior Police Department, in Ramsey County, Minn.: Rex A. Lee, 61, of Columbia Heights, Minn.; Jason M. Mussehl, 42, of Montrose, Minn.; and Julie J. Julien, 35, of Minneapolis. An additional suspect, Timothy M. Kielb, 45, of Brooklyn Center, Minn., was arrested in Pine County, Minn.

Extradition is being sought on all four suspects to bring them to Douglas County for formal charging, according to Deputy Chief Nicholas Alexander.

It is believed that a majority of the stolen items from the Superior burglary have been recovered and will eventually be returned to the rightful owner. This case is still under investigation and no additional information is available for release at this time.

These are preliminary allegations and all suspects are presumed innocent by law pending future court proceedings.
