Presidential comedy serves up laughs

Forget the upcoming Presidential election. Who will get your play-going vote this November? We hope it will go to Rubber Chicken Theater and their production of David Mamet’s presidential comedy “November.”

Forget the upcoming Presidential election. Who will get your play-going vote this November? We hope it will go to Rubber Chicken Theater and their production of David Mamet’s presidential comedy “November.” It will be staged Oct. 4-6 and 11-13 at 7:30 p.m. at The Play Ground, located in the Technology Village in downtown Duluth. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students.

“November” is an Oval Office satire that depicts one day in the life of a beleaguered American President. It’s November in an election year and incumbent Charles Smith’s chances for reelection are looking grim. His approval ratings are down, his money’s running out, and nuclear war might be right around the corner. Though his staff has thrown in the towel and the First Lady is preparing for her post-White House life, Chuck isn’t ready to give up just yet. Amidst this chaos, the President has to find time to pardon a couple of turkeys — saving them from slaughter before Thanksgiving - -and this simple PR event inspires him to risk it all in an attempt to win back public support. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students with valid ID. They are available at the door, or call (218) 733-7555 for more information.
