Halfback Greg Amys put on a show for the Cathedral High School football fans, scoring three touchdowns to lead the Panthers to a 28-0 win over the Wakefield Cardinals.
The Superior Senior High School sophomore football team turned in a 37-14 win over Cloquet. Fullback Larry Rivord led the attack with two touchdowns on short runs. (1968)

He scored touchdowns on runs of 1 and 6 yards and picked up another six points on an 80-yard sprint with an intercepted pass. Halfback Mike Machones scored the other Panther touchdown on a 6-yard run. (1968)
The Northwestern Tigers scored 21 points in the second half to defeat the Chetek Bulldogs 29-13 in a Heart O’ North Conference football game. Kevin Knoll ran for two Tiger touchdowns, Bill Ronchi connected with touchdown passes to Ron Sznaider and Terry Karna, and Sznaider ran for a six-pointer to complete the Tiger scoring. (1976)
