LETTER: Everyone deserves help with harassment

To the Telegram: I was reading an article today (Nov. 19) about a man who harassed a police officer’s mother after being pulled over and ticketed. He was arrested and charged with stalking and telephone harassment.

To the Telegram:

I was reading an article today (Nov. 19) about a man who harassed a police officer’s mother after being pulled over and ticketed. He was arrested and charged with stalking and telephone harassment.

This is so disturbing, and I in no way condone this.

But, I myself being a victim of harassment wonders why I can’t get help from police officers? I have an actual harassment injunction against a person who repeatedly harasses me, and my loved ones. This person has harassed me and my family for more than three years now, and every time I call the authorities for this harassment, I am told there is nothing that can be done, that I need pictures to prove this harassment.

I’m just wondering if I had a police officer for a relative, would something finally be done?
