Nemadji Golf Course

Double Eagle

Doug Zychowski scored a double eagle at the Nemadji Golf Course on Saturday, Sept. 15.

The double eagle came on No. 8, a 478-yard, par-5 hole on the North-South course. Zychowski holed his second shot from 210 yards with a 4 hybrid.

Holes-in-one

There were two aces on No. 14S (139 yards) recently at the Nemadji Golf Course.

Dean Genovese used an 8-iron on his hole-in-one on Friday while golfing with Pete Olbin, Cloquet, and Dan Olbin, Minneapolis.

Darren Young, Superior, used a pitching wedge to ace the hole on Saturday.

Superior’s Roy Harju recorded a hole-in-one on No. 6E (160 yards) at the Nemadji Golf Course with a 5-wood on Monday.

Witnessing the ace was LeRoy Vitek, Superior.

Thursday Morning Ladies

The Thursday Morning Ladies League at Nemadji Golf Course wrapped up its season with a scramble, lunch and prizes.

Tying for first place in the scramble were the teams of Julie Hines, Helene Abbott and Carol Johnson and Kelly Reed, Lovey Whelihan and Larraine Matushak.

Event: Kelly Reed, long putt on No. 1; Beth Olson, long drive on No. 2 and closest to pin on No. 5 for lady golfers 65 years old; Joan Haugland, long drive on No. 3 for golfers 75 years old; Barb Buhr, long putt on No. 8; Julie Hines, closest to pin for ladies under 65 years old.

Wed. Morning Women

The Wednesday Morning Women’s Golf League at the Nemadji Golf Course will end its season with a scramble on the North course followed by lunch.

Golfers should be at the course by 8:30 a.m. If weather is not suitable for playing, lunch will take place at 11 a.m.
