Norwood

Hole-in-one

Duluth’s Dennis Czapinski used a 5-iron to ace hole No. 2 on Sept. 1 at the Norwood Golf Course in Lake Nebagamon.

Witnessing the ace on the 177-yard hole were his wife, Lynn Czapinski, and Steve Arnold.

Wednesday A.M. Ladies

The Wednesday A.M. Ladies league at the Norwood Golf Course wrapped up its season with a string tournament and banquet.

Cy Bustrak, Luise Drolson, Joni Burfield and Ann Heinen finished first in the tournament with a 29.

Diane Larson, Dolores Larson, Joan Eves and Luanne Hunter finished second at 30 and Jean Carlsgaard, Carol Smith, Fran Flaherty and Doris Aslyn won the consolation title.

It was also announced that Phyllis Flaherty was named the Player of the Year by league members.

The league will meet again at 10 a.m. on May 8, 2013.
