Court dismisses charges against Hermantown man

Felony charges against a Hermantown man accused of racking up tens of thousands of dollars in unearned overtime and making personal purchases with his employer’s credit card have been dismissed.

Felony charges against a Hermantown man accused of racking up tens of thousands of dollars in unearned overtime and making personal purchases with his employer’s credit card have been dismissed.

Daniel Aaron Nelson, 39, faced two felony counts of identity theft-financial gain and one felony count of fraudulent writings in Douglas County Circuit Court. The charges were dismissed following a preliminary hearing Wednesday. Court Commissioner Rebecca Lovejoy could not find probable cause for arraignment.

Nelson was accused of submitting false overtime hours and misusing credit cards while employed for the Superior branch of FABCO.
