Duluth: Kevin Kling brings his unique blend of storytelling to the Weber Music Hall on the University of Minnesota Duluth campus at 7:30 p.m. with assistance from accordion player Simone Perrin. Kling, known for his commentaries on NPR’s “All Things Considered” and author of three books, never let a birth defect or severe motorcycle accidents slow him down. Superior: East End Family Fun Day runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the city’s East End neighborhood. The free event includes a pet parade, collector and pre-WWII car shop, children’s games, live music, hourly prize drawings and five miles of garage sales.

Superior: Boy Scout Troop 202 hosts a meatball dinner 4-7 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 320 N. 28th St. E. Tickets are $8; ages 5 and younger are free.

Duluth: The North Shore Sounds under the direction of Brian G. MacDonell, proudly present their annual “Goodtime Barbershop and Variety Show at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at Marshall School Fregeau Auditorium in Duluth. The evening features a patriotic theme, with a portion of the proceeds going toward Honor Flight Northland. Duluth: Tamarack Dance Association presents another Third Saturday community barn dance at 7:30 p.m. at Avalon Dance Institute, 404 W. Superior St. Music by the Wild Thyme String Band. Duluth: JPP brings its Finnish style “Wave of Fiddles” to Sacred Heart Music Center, 201 W. Superior: The Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center screens “Flags of Our Fathers” at 1:30 p.m. The 2006 film directed by Clint Eastwood, stars Ryan Phillippe, and tells the story of the Battle of Iwo Jima. The film is shown in the Pearl Harbor Theatre. Admission is free. Popcorn is supplied by Campbell’s Do-It Center.
