The Duluth-Superior Metropolitan Interstate Council is seeking volunteers to help count bicyclists and pedestrians in the Twin Ports from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday. The project will assist city and regional leaders in estimating usage and demand for bicycle and pedestrian improvements. To take part, volunteers must register, attend a one-hour training session and spend two hours counting Wednesday.

Counts will be taken at five to 10 sites around the Twin Ports from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Volunteers only need to sign up for one two-hour slot. Training takes place at noon today in the University of Wisconsin-Superior’s Marcovich Wellness Center and noon and 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Duluth YMCA. Register by filling out an online survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/BikePedCount. For more information contact James Gittemeier at jgittemeier@ardc.org or (218) 529-7556.
