The Northwestern High School volleyball team opened Heart O’ North Conference play with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-10) victory over Cumberland.
“They were hitting hard and they really gelled as a team,” said Tanya Amys, head coach of the Tigers.
Northwestern improves to 4-2 overall this season and stands at 1-0 in the HON Conference.
Alie Larson led the Tigers with nine kills for the night. Connilyn Hursh added six kills, and C.J. Kahl finished with 10 digs.
The Tigers are back in action Tuesday when they host the Bloomer Blackhawks. They then play at Ladysmith Thursday.
