LETTER: Duffy worthy of another term
To the Telegram: For those that serve on President Obama’s national finance committee, the dollar that they donated to his 2008 campaign led to $24,783 of Federal dollars back to the member’s company, according to research done in bestseller Throw Them All Out. That’s quite the return on an investment.

Fortunately, this type of crony capitalism and out of control spending led to a wave of Republicans being elected to the House of Representatives in 2010. One of those members includes our very own representative, Sean Duffy. Since elected, Duffy has refused to be sucked in by the culture of Washington D.C. While working in D.C., Duffy opts to sleep on an air mattress in his office to save the taxpayers money. Because the 7th District is so big, Duffy has developed a mobile office so it’s easier for him to get out and hear the concerns of more Wisconsinites.
Duffy also has done multiple town hall events and what he calls “Coffee with your Congressman” to make himself accessible.
Contrast this to Democratic Senator from Nevada, Harry Reid, who lives in Washington D.C. at the Ritz Carlton. Most couldn’t afford to stay there for one night. Also, contrast this to his Democratic predecessor Dave Obey who though spent 42 years in office, managed a total of zero town hall events.
Electing Sean Duffy and those like him in 2010 was a step in the right direction. Let’s keep moving forward in 2012 by re-electing Sean Duffy.
Adam Hanson,
Superior
