Nominations are now being accepted. Any organization in ECE’s service territory is eligible to compete for the award. Civic organizations and non-profits are eligible to submit a nomination if they have enhanced the quality of life in their community through a special project or the ongoing work they do. Community members may also submit a nomination on behalf of a deserving organization.
Nomination forms are available at eastcentralenergy.com or call (800) 254-7944, ext. 8046. Completed forms must be received at ECE’s Braham headquarters by Oct. 29.
ECE will recognize the local winner with a plaque and a $500 cash prize. The organization will then compete with winners from other electric cooperatives for statewide recognition and $1,000.
Hinckley American Legion Post 388 received ECE’s Touchstone Energy Community Award in 2011 for organizing a countywide ceremony of remembrance on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
As a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, ECE is one of more than 700 local, member-owned electric cooperatives that incorporate the values of integrity, accountability, innovation and commitment to community in the work they do.
