Christ Lutheran has developed a solid and exciting program for passing on the Christian faith to young teens. Christ Lutheran uses a “cradle to the grave — head to the heart” process, which also provides many opportunities for parents to participate in the learning process with their children.
Confirmation classes are for children who have been baptized in the Christian Faith or who would like to be baptized. The goal of confirmation is to prepare each child for life by helping them grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. Confirmation is a rite of the church, which declares of a catechumen: “Here is a Christian — he/she has been baptized, confesses the faith, and is in communion with Christ and His church.” This rite is usually accompanied by the prayer of the church and a blessing from the Word of God.
Confirmation classes take an exciting look at what the Bible says about life with God. Children learn what God says about Himself, baptism, holy communion, the Christian church, sin and guilt, forgiveness, the purpose of life, the end of the world. Teens discover God’s expectations concerning worship, parents, suicide, marriage, money, drugs, and more, and learn how God’s grace in Jesus Christ sets us free when we fail to meet those divine expectations. Any child is welcome.
