Cornucopia offers home-spun fun

The village of Cornucopia invites everyone to attend the seventh annual Art Crawl 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 15.

The annual event features group exhibition of local arts and crafts.

The Lake Superior South Shore has long been known for its thriving arts community, and in 2005, local artist and writer Nancy Raeburn initiated the Art Crawl to showcase the work of artisans who have chosen to live and work here.

The event is a leisurely survey of contemporary, aesthetic, cottage industry, “emotion recollected in tranquility” as Wordsworth defined art, a one-day, homespun MoMA.

Cornucopia is nestled on the northwestern shores of the Bayfield County Peninsula and is your first welcome to the Apostle Islands National Lake Shore. An art fair with a distinctively “North Wisconsin” twist, Corny’s Crawl offers 50 exhibits to view and enjoy at your own pace, admission is free, and works of art are for sale. Maps will be provided, refreshments are available, and the fun is homemade, so mark your calendar and visit our cove of begotten dreams.
