Superior: Barker’s Island Farmers Market runs 8 a.m. to noon near the SS Meteor, rain or shine.

Sunday

Iron River: Join White Winter Winery for live music all day and a pig roast to support the Iron River emergency services at the fifth annual Emergency Pig-Out noon to 3 p.m. The Buddy Scott Band followed by Deja Blue performs 3:30-7 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Iron River police, fire and ambulance services. Cost is $10 for adults; $6 for ages 6-12 and free for ages 5 and younger at the winery on U.S. Highway 2 and Lea Street.

Monday

Duluth: Five Guys Burger and Fries in the Miller Hill Mall hosts a fundraiser for the Autism Association of Northern Minnesota 4-8 p.m. Ten percent of all purchases made during that time benefit the association.

Tuesday

Superior: Northern Lights Elementary School hosts its First Day Orientation to start the year in a positive way. This one-day only event runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and offers with the most current school year information. Snacks and lunch provided. Superior: A Cancer Prayer Support Group meets 2-3 p.m. at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church, 4020 S. Darrow Road. Current cancer patients, those in remission and their caregivers are encouraged to attend. This faith-filled meeting is open to all members of the community, regardless of church affiliation.

Duluth: La Leche League meets at 6:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church (Coppertop). Babies and children welcome, lending library available. Call (218) 499-9504.

Wednesday

Superior: Downtown Farmers Market runs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot north of the Superior Public Library, rain or shine.

Thursday

Duluth: The Mental Health Support Group meets 5-7 p.m. at Miller Dwan Medical Center, 502 E. Second St., meeting rooms 1-3, lobby level, eastside near the auditorium.

Superior: Thaddeus Kosciuszko Society (Polish Club) meets at 6:30 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 1710 N. 12th St.

Superior: The monthly meeting of Chapter 4 of the Disabled American Veterans meets at 7 p.m. at the Superior Senior Center, 1527 Tower Ave. All Chapter members asked to attend.

Superior: The Eagles Auxiliary holds a meat raffle at 6:15 p.m. and serves Coney’s 5-7 p.m. All money raised goes to local charities.
