Girl stabbed by mother released from hospital, police say

The 6-year-old Fitchburg girl who police said suffered life-threatening injuries after being stabbed multiple times by her mother was released from the hospital Monday, Fitchburg police said.

The 6-year-old Fitchburg girl who police said suffered life-threatening injuries after being stabbed multiple times by her mother was released from the hospital Monday, Fitchburg police said.

Tasha D. Harmon, 30, is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide in the Aug. 13 stabbing of her daughter, Adrianna.

According to a criminal complaint, Harmon told police she heard voices and conducted a "spiritual cleaning" before stabbing her daughter seven times in the chest and back, puncturing her lung.

The girl was placed under the supervision of Dane County Human Services, police said.
