Ontario man killed in Bayfield County crash, two others injured

One person is dead and two were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Grand View.

One person is dead and two were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Grand View.

According to the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Department, the accident around 3:45 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 63 when a 64-year-old man from Barrie, Ontario lost control of his vehicle and skidded into the southbound lanes.

The 64-year-old was traveling northbound and struck a vehicle driven by a 21-year-old man from Mason, Wis.

He and a 22-year-old woman from Ashland were injured in the crash and had to be extricated from the vehicle. They were transported to Memorial Medical Center in Ashland and were later transferred to Duluth hospitals.

The man from Ontario was killed in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.

Names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of family.
