SHS girls 1st, boys 2nd at Docker Invite

Tiger girls finish second, boys third

The Superior High School cross country team competed in the Ashland Invitational Thursday evening with the Spartan girls finishing first and the boys second.

The Northwestern Tigers were also in action, with their girls finishing second and boys third.

Chequamegon won the boys team title.

Ashland’s Bryce Miller won the boys race in 16:38. Northwestern’s Ryan Lind was second in 17:06 and Superior’s Evan Walpole and Chris Carey were fourth and fifth in 17:14 and 17:20.

Northwestern’s Jordan Johnson won the girls race with a time of 16:35. Superior’s top finisher was Malley O’Brien, who finished fourth in 17:02.

Both the Spartans and Tigers will be back in action at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Spooner Invitational.
