Attention residents of Brule, Cloverland and Highland townships
If you are a resident of Brule, Cloverland or Highland townships your state Assembly district has changed. Because of the redistricting done last year, you will be in the 74th Assembly district currently represented by Janet Bewley of Ashland.
Even though Duluth-Superior is our center for jobs, shopping, media, cultural and social activity, we are now lumped in with Ashland, Hurley, Park Falls and Phillips.
Unfortunately we will lose Nick Milroy as our Assemblyman. Nick is a strong voice for our communities, Douglas County, and working people all over the state. Even though we can’t vote for him anymore, we can still support him. He will still be an advocate for our area and our interests.
Fortunately Janet Bewley will also be a great Assemblywoman. She has been knocking on doors in our area. I met her at a recent house party. She is energetic, articulate, well educated, and has many years of work experience in the real world. She is a concerned citizen who cares about people and our area. She is not a career politician!
Redistricting has received little attention in the press so many folks may not be aware of the change. Therefore, we need to spread the word ourselves. Please pass this on to your friends and neighbors who live in the affected townships.
If you are a resident of those townships, I urge you to vote for Janet Bewley.
Philip Anderson,
Maple
