‘Cause for the Paws’ gears up for 14th annual walk/run

The 14th annual “Cause for the Paws” 5K walk/run for the Humane Society of Douglas County will be Sept. 8 on the Osaugie Trail in Superior, right across from Barker’s Island on E. Second St.

The 14th annual “Cause for the Paws” 5K walk/run for the Humane Society of Douglas County will be Sept. 8 on the Osaugie Trail in Superior, right across from Barker’s Island on E. Second St. The route starts on the Barker’s Island east causeway, heads east to McDonald’s and then back to the starting point. Registration is at 8 with the walk/run beginning at 9 a.m. A drawing for the annual raffle will follow the race. Event fees are $25 for an individual or $50 per family which includes a T-shirt for you and bandana for your dog(s). Dogs must have current proof of rabies vaccination at time of registration, children under age 13 must be accompanied by an adult, individuals may walk up to two dogs, dog(s) must be leashed at all times. The leashes must be 6 feet or shorter, no flexible leads allowed, and you are responsible for cleaning up after your dog(s). There will also be a Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle along with the craft table.
